Meghan McCain, the daughter of John McCain, gave a tearful tribute to the senator at a funeral service in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, recalling that "the greatest of his roles was a father."

I have also lost my father far too soon, so I can understand the pain Meghan is experiencing right now. Through that pain, she so beautifully eulogized her father with absolute grace and the strength of a thousand men. I very much doubt I could have been capable of doing the same at my own father’s funeral service. Thank you, McCain family, for sharing your son, brother husband, and father with Americans for so many years. We may not share the same political ideals, but we do share a love for our country and the ever present aspiration to see her at her best. You did your father proud, Meghan. May God dry your tears and heal your soul as you continue through your life basking in the glow of his memory.

The last thing any son or daughter wants to do is to eulogise their parent, but it is also the thing they will always do to honour them. This was my experience standing in the position Meghan McCain stood in, paying tribute to and honouring her father when I gave my dad’s eulogy four years ago. I don’t know to this day how I held it together, but just like with Meghan, my dad’s spirit helped guide me. I respect John McCain to this day and the way he stood up for Obama against his own supporters shows the true character he possessed.

At deaths door and your being petty???? you're right nista, it was a sh** show/circus. and no there were no tears running down Meghan's face. John McCain is everything that's right about the country he loved - honor, respect, sacrifice, dignity. Meghan gave a spot-on and beautiful eulogy, especially the part where the disgusting person in the oval office, who comes from privilege, wouldn't understand what sacrifice, dignity, strength, hard work, and country first, will ever understand what these words mean, as he slandered McCain's service & sacrifice because "he's no hero, I like people who weren't captured, ok?" God bless the McCain family

McCain was a Warhawk, nothing else. Trump keeps going and McCain failed miserably.

@@Kevin93m3 - you're entitled to your misguided, ignorant opinion, but McCain is universally known as a patriot and war hero. If you want to support and defend a spineless piece of garbage like Cadet Bone Spurs, who used 5 deferments to avoid serving, and then insult ALL POW's because he "doesn't like the ones who were captured", while not having the sac himself to serve, well that's on you, just don't be a hypocrite and fly the flag in front of your house.
@nomad47315 жыл бұрын
On the contrary trumpturd, Sen McCain got the last laugh through his daughter's eulogy, while McCain was a POW your boy was living a life of luxury and comfort thinking of ways on how to dodge the draft through his so called "bone spurs" POTUS is such a proud citizen, LMFAO!!!
@Kevin93m35 жыл бұрын
Michael Seidl- Universally known as a "War Hero" to sheep like you. Better men than McCain came back from Vietnam and other wars and don't need to constantly use it as a crutch for political reasons or proclaim themselves as a "War Hero". Son of a rear admiral who graduated very near last in his class somehow managed to become a squadron leader after crashing 2 planes. Later he was involved in starting the fire on the USS Forrestal by accident or negligence that caused 134 sailors to lose their lives. And after all this he still managed to use his "distinguished" military service for political benefit. McCain was everything that was wrong with this country. Trump bested him. McCain had to carry that 2015 insult like a bag with him till his end. He was probably thinking about Trump in his last hours lol
@Kevin93m35 жыл бұрын
LOU M- Nope sorry. Trump wasn't invited and he was still there lol Trump lives rent free in their minds. Trump is probably glad he wasn't invited. A few rounds of golf is a much better use of time than hearing the political class slobber all over McCain extolling his non existent virtues. Trump did more for this country with his "bone spurs" than McCain did being a "War Hero". McCain was an entitled brat that graduated very near last in his class. The only reason McCain became anything is because his daddy was a rear admiral that white washed all his screw ups.

madscout96, sad, I didn't have it with my father either. Perhaps it's the reason I've made terrible decisions in my personal life. Oh well.

are you actually saying that she cried fake tears at her dad's funeral? You clearly have been living under a rock because her and her father were closer than anything ever and she loved him beyond anything in this world. She is not my favourite person by a long shot; we disagree on many issues but she is still smart and educated... clearly something you aren't.
