As a Democrat. Despite questioning some of Bush's policies and decisions. I've never questioned his heart and passion for the country and it's people. He was a good man who did what he could, with what we had, in a time of chaos and peril. Hopefully our next president can be someone we can once again be proud of and respect. I have no respect for the man in the office now. A man with such lack of empathy and compassion for others should not be leading America. His hate and divisiveness has brought out the worst in us and I know us Americans can be better than this. We need to stand united

9/11 was Bill Clinton's fault, its just that who ever is in office get's blamed for it. George bush only was in office for about 6 months at that time, and with in that time Bush was getting use to being in office. If you look at leading up to 9/11 you would find it out to being Clinton's fault. Bill Clinton missed the signs of 9/11. If the former president had authorized the assassination of Osama bin Laden thousands of Americans wouldn’t have died. “We watched [bin Laden], we were watching him and reading about him making horrible statements about us, and thinking, I hope we take this guy out, and we didn’t take this guy out.” “And actually, Bill Clinton had their sights on him and then didn’t pull the trigger,” If they pulled the trigger you’d probably have the World Trade Center the way it used to be. And by the way, most importantly, with all the thousands of lives that have been lost and affected so gravely. So we have to be smart.” Clinton has acknowledged that he had the opportunity to assassinate bin Laden in 1998, but he passed, saying that a strike targeting the eventual 9/11 mastermind would have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians. “I nearly got him,” Clinton once told an Australian political leader. “And I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him. And so I didn't do it." In October, Trump infuriated many conservatives by blaming former President George W. Bush for the 9/11 attacks, which took place less than a year after Bush assumed the presidency.

And where will it end? To the McCain's: our heart goes out to you, know that we, as the majority of the American public are behind you.

A very very very good, clever, warm, humane eulogy. Congratulations. Trump and his speechwriters couldn't have come up with anything remotely as good.

One of the best speeches I ever heard from President Bush, I think because he was relaxed, and speaking from his heart.

I wish Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnel were capable of absorbing President Bush and Obama's eulogies too.

People don’t know W’s history. He is a very intelligent man. Anyone who denies it has been fooled. His southernness (not a word) leads people to believe he’s stupid. He’s not. Regardless of your opinion of him.

Man that sideways swipe George made about Trump was priceless, and well deserved. McCain always outclassed that one term loser...

Thank you President Bush and President Obama for such beautiful eulogies honoring a great American hero. You made me proud to be an American as we mourn the passing of a great man. His sacrifice should remind us that we have become spoiled and complacent. Let’s each and everyone of us remember that out country already is great. Let’s, each of us, get involved to protect and defend decency, freedom of speech and all the freedoms and values that John McCain worked to protect and defend. Godspeed Mr. McCain.
