On tonight’s top story: The U.S. is expected to impose sanctions on a unit of ultra-Orthodox soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Israeli leaders have criticized the expected decision, which could come as early as Monday and would be the first time the U.S. has imposed sanctions on a unit inside the Israeli military. Crystal Goomansingh has more on the flare-ups in the West Bank.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked American lawmakers after the U.S. passed a $95-billion aid bill, which includes $61 billion in funding for his country. In an interview on U.S. television, he said the bill needs to be signed into law as soon as possible so that his troops can continue to push back against Russia’s full-scale invasion. Redmond Shannon reports.
In Toronto, there has been a verdict in a high-profile case involving the death of a police officer. Nearly three years after he was accused of intentionally killing Const. Jeffrey Northrup, a jury found Umar Zameer not guilty. Catherine McDonald reports.
Canada is taking an important step towards launching a long-awaited national disability benefit. The Liberals say the program is meant to help lift Canadians living with disabilities out of poverty. But as Mike Armstrong reports, critics say the funding isn’t even close to what’s needed.
And finally, Calgary is best known for its annual Stampede and being a major energy hub. But the city’s new branding is focusing on sunny weather instead. The new slogan “Blue Sky City” came after a nearly $5-million consultation process. But as Heather Yourex-West explains, not everyone is sold.

If less than two hundred hostages warrant the destruction of the whole Gaza strip and the killing of 25,000 women and children, then what does 6000 hostages warrant? The narrative that history started on October 7th is getting old. And if you won't look past that then it's best to just blatantly admit that white lives matter more at this point and save us all the back and forth.

We'd be able to provide a proper disability benefit to those who truly do need it if they would kick all those off the program who don't need it, who are playing the system, and who are working for cash on the side. if they can work for cash on the side, then they can work and should not be on this system. There are thousands and thousands of people in Ontario playing this system who do not need to be on it. And they are taking away from those who truly do.

This could have been any one of us,if there was no reason for the police to target him ,why would he expect the attack on his vehicle to be by actual police,people panic and can do irrational things without being able to distinguish between right and wrong decisions. I personally consider this the police fault for mistaking their target. It is very tragic to loose any of our beloved public servants and my heart goes out to his family members.
