White Rock stabbings: Same suspect confirmed in 2 BC attacks as charge laid

The man who was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in White Rock, B.C., last week has now been charged in another attack that happened two days earlier.
Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault in the case of Jatinder Singh, who was stabbed in the neck as he sat on a bench with his wife on April 21.
Also, Hyacinth was arrested on April 29 in Surrey in connection with the homicide of Kulwinder Singh Sohi, also on the White Rock Promenade.

In order to make charges stick they have to be very careful what is publicized. No loop holes for the defense. You should be happy about that.

@@user-vg6pj2my2nliterally not a thing, this isn’t the United States. “To help ensure the privacy of children and their parents or guardians, the Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act and the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFE) prohibit the publication of specific identifying information that reveals the child's involvement with the child intervention system.” It’s ban to protect him not to help the prosecution…. He murdered someone. Chances are he’s known to police, illegal migrant or some level of “protected people in British Columbia” This is disgusting.

@@user-vg6pj2my2n that was the Province and this is the federal government of Canada. “A publication ban is an order the Court makes that prevents anyone from publishing, broadcasting, or sending any information that could identify a victim, witness, or other person who participates in the criminal justice system. The publication ban is intended to allow victims, witnesses, and others to participate in the justice system without suffering negative consequences.” So… no it’s political, the above comment is correct.

He was apparently upset that the first victim had survived, so he did not stop stabbing the second victim until he was sure he was dead. No, he's more upset because he was caught before he became a serial killer.

He seems to show the pattern of a serial killer, he found out what didn't work from the first attack, so he changed his method. many times when a serial killer is caught, it is afterwards that they make the connection to the earlier crimes because the method was different. both attacks were probably intended to kill.

Yes well first the community can be distraught about the attacks next they can be upset about the publication bans and judicial system once the suspect is captured. Personally yes I recognize White Rock considers itself a scenic tourist area but it's not more so than the BC capital of Victoria that has had seven stabbings in the past month of April they just adapt more to not informing the public of crimes so as not to deter tourists and scare residents. It's technically Surrey still though plenty of gangs and drugs etc. there a fifteen minute drive to the pier isn't a problem I'm sure. People going on about self defense well one victim was dozing on a bench after work stabbed from behind so you want to blame him not having dog spray in hand or expecting to be attacked?
