This is not a free ticket for any president to willfully just turn around and violate the law especially if that is done all by itself. Now if a president creates an action that is necessary to the country, but on another basis that action would in turn violate the law in some fashion, then they would be immune. For example. If he ordered a million ounces of gold to be taken from the reserve and given to a group of bad actors so they could be caught moving and hiding the gold, then taking the gold without knowledge and giving it away would be protected from prosecution if it had been documented that there was a necessary and legitimate reason to commit that crime. A cop has to speed to catch a speeder.... But he doesn't get in trouble. That's the way the law would be handled for the presidents. They will still have to face the laws and not just be able to break one because they want to and are immune. Actually a person with diplomatic immunity would have far more right to break or not follow laws than the presidents would have. We have to see what the intelligent lower courts come up with as guidelines first. Who knows I could be totally wrong after that happens!
