Queen Elizabeth reflects on the loss of Prince Philip during annual Christmas message

2 жыл бұрынDuring her annual Christmas address to her subjects and the world, Queen Elizabeth II spoke of the pain felt over the holidays by those who have lost a loved one, a pain she now personally experiences through the loss of her "beloved" Prince Philip.
Philip was a pivotal figure in the British Royal Family. He was the longest-serving consort to a monarch in British history, having been in the role for more than 60 years. The Queen - a deeply private person - once called him “her rock” in public.
Her Majesty also reflected on another difficult year brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, praising the work of frontline healthcare workers and researchers who are working to fight the virus.

I must admit, Queen Elizabeth was not on my radar however with her passing, I have come to realize I took her for granted. I feel great sorrow that we no longer have her presence in the world. Christmas will not be the same.

In fact, when I see Her Majesty the Queen, I feel very good. It's amazing that she's reached this age and still looks sixty. My grandmother is much younger than her, but she died a long time ago. My other grandmother is sick and I think she will die soon. Most importantly, may your pure soul rest in eternal peace, and I hope you have reunited with your beloved Philip

She will be greatly missed during this 2022 Christmas time! I lost my older brother aged 44 this April. How life can change from one Christmas to another. It's important we realize this and cherish each Christmas with our loved ones for we don't know if we will have them around for the next or we ourselves will be around for the next. Each Christmas time hence needs to be cherished and celebrated with thanksgiving and gratitude for this gift called life. For we do not know how long is our life and our loved ones' is here on this earth.

A wonderful woman who chose service for her country and the commonwealth. There have been many situations that she has had to deal with through the years.
