Build the homestead, find and filter the clean water, grow your own food, and even though you will need other human beings that produced and distributed goods and services for you, you could eventually life completely off the gird and stop paying for the capitalist system to keep killing the spirit of society. Unfortunately, capitalism will keep destroy the life support systems on Earth, so you will only be so safe living with just your family off-the-grid as the environmental collapse is already starting and very few places on Earth will avoid it if the system itself does not change. If you care about your family and the future, a better option would be to join with other like-minded people, who understand system change is what is needed. We don't have to accept living in a sick, unstable socio-economic system if we don't want to. There are plenty of people who care about a better world, but they have a lot of capitalist propaganda to break out of to see that there are viable alternatives we can build, demand and install to create a more humane and healthy system for ourselves and future generations. We've been living in barbaric "Man's Law" systems for too long. About time we start changing to Natural Law and a resource based economy, with applied technical efficiency to create functioning self-sustaining communities that leave no one out and make problems like poverty, politics, war and debt obsolete.

It mathematically guarantees massive income inequality, death, war, poverty and crippling debt that the majority of people will be subject to. Capitalism has proven unsustainable, so we don't fix a spreading cancer with a bandage, we try to cut it out completely before it spreads too far and kills it's host. We have time, we have the technical capacity, but do we have enough people willing to stand up for what is right? I thought people cared about a sustainable future? Is it only if they get to be ruler of the world or are they okay if they can actually be as free as their neighbour from labor-for-income? These are important questions to ask and answer. As for blockchain, yeah it's one of many techs, like the Internet itself, that can either be very useful, or very destructive, depending on the system in which it is used.

Canadian elections are not rigged. They are all done on paper ballots counted by hand. Each party can send a representative to observe the counting. You could even do that yourself if you were a member of a party and volunteered to do that. A federal election is in reality 338 individual elections, one in each riding. Each counted separately.
