Yes. The squirrels come to people and beg, the birds $h#@ over many things causing damage. Also birds aren't the neatest eaters and then come mice and rats feeding on the leftovers, that chew everything including your home. Also raccoons. My neighbor feeds the birds and frma all the food they drop it looks like a Disney scene. Squirrels eating beside skunks and raccoons mixed with birds. I work by the side of the road often and I saw A LOT of rats on this lawn eating from food dropped from a bird feeder. I think they were doing it for a while, because they weren't scared of me at all. The crossing guard should have gotten a fine, not fired. Work could have given her a week off as a punishment IF she was caught feeding the animals in uniform during work hours. Someone must have called her work. They should have called the bylaw officer if it bothers them.

That's how dumb the system is. Somebody with nothing better to do can call without showing their face and create issiues for others and for good people. Make sure you know your neighbour's well! .. The town I'm in, recently created an entirely new department, with a complaints line, for people to call if someone isn't keeping their house and yard up to (their) standard. It's costing a lot of money to pay the extra people, but "not to worry" they expect the fines they'll levie will pay for the new department. As an aside, they also opened another department, to catch (and release) the scammers, as fraud is very common here. They've had more luck with fining people for having a different yard, aka, wild flowers instead of lawn, to feed the migrating butterflies and bee's. They have to cut it down, put a lawn in and make sure it's neatly trimmed. I think this is over-reach, people should mind their own business. Now, if its question of a garbage bin, not emptied for weeks and filled with rodent food, thats a different story. But a nature loving butterfly garden, should be allowed to stay. WHO reports these nice people, doing nice things... Sad.
