IT was lovely stopping over in Suva on a stopover. I was helped by a guy with a Tamil name and he showed me around. "Black" locals were so easy to chat and also started talking to be in Hindi...I also visited a Market, where the "indian" locals were selling lot of stuff and many were on kava..lol I had southern indian vada(lentil dumpling) from a local grocery store and also visited the lovely hindu temple.

I was born in Suva, and came to UK in 1960. During Lockdown I found out about indentured labourers in Fiji, my great grandfather. I cried deep inside. I am now actively researching our history and about my brothers in the other countries taken by the British as slaves.
