"I'm here, it's ok!": Emotional moment rescuers save little girl trapped in well in Aleppo

3 жыл бұрынA young girl was rescued this week from inside a well by the Syrian Civil Defence AKA the "White Helmets" in Aleppo, Syria, after falling down it while playing near her home.
Video said to be in Al Bab City shows Assaf al Assaf, a member of the Syrian Civil Defence, Aleppo branch, being lowered inside the well and footage from his onboard camera showing the dramatic rescue in action.
Four-year-old Sumaiah cried out for her mother, as al Assaf tries to calm her and asks to see if her hand is hurt, before the pair are brought up to safety. The little girl asks for her doll during the rescue.
The incident is said to have taken place at 3 p.m. local time and the rescue operation took one hour, according to the White Helmets.
Sumaiah is now fine and was not injured, they added.

I feel like a lot of people don't realize how traumatizing it can be to fall into pitch black, lose your comfort item, and just remain trapped with nowhere to go. I'm grateful the kid will probably not remember much from the experience as she grows older, it's honestly a miracle they saved her in time.

Yep scientific research has demonstrated that our memories latch onto traumatizing events and store them much better and for much longer than happy ones. One of my earliest memories was waking up after a nightmare and trying to tell my mom why I was crying and she couldn’t understand me because I was too young to speak clearly. Imagine how much more powerful a memory of falling into a well would be! 😬

Imagine going down there thinking you are going to find the body of a little girl :( The way he said she's alive means they expected her to maybe not be, and he went in there with the knowledge he may be bringing up a body. Think of how happy and elated HE felt hearing her cries of life. Such a good video.

Baby girls are so sweet. This angel went thru unimaginable horror and still remembers losing her toy. Smfh broke my heart and melted it. Bravo to the rescuer u can tell he has kids of his own.

Hearing her cries and then seeing her sitting alone in the dark when he found her was gut wrenching but so happy he was able to get to her and get her out of there. She's just a baby.

When she was yelling “mama! mama!” All I could do was cry silently because I know how it feels to lose your mother for even 5 minutes, I can’t imagine how longs she’s had to be in there all alone. Poor girl I hope she’s ok with her parents now❤️🥺

@@Lunastarrr As cute and as nice as he is in the whole rescue, and he really is, what myeyesseelies5647 meant was probably the same I thought when he said that. Thats not really what the girl wants to hear. "We'll go look for it and find it later", would be the better suited answer for a kid. He meant well, and anyone could say this in the heat of the moment, I mean not to point any fingers. But looking at the footage afterwards, one of the biggest distresses of the child was having lost her toy, not almost dying, so saying that to the child, is kinda similar to a mother who just lost her child being told: "You can have another one." That being said, he is a wonderful human being, you can hear that in his tone of voice and the way he conforts the girl. I'm glad everyone is safe and hopefully happy now!

This video made my heart hurt in an unimaginable way I grew up in Syria and I was a child when the whole war thing started, I remember when we were trapped down in the basement of my elementary school because it was destroyed by a bomb, it was the most traumatizing and horrific thing I have experienced in my entire life

Thank you guys for the support I am doing fine now (it has been like 11 years) and I am not too traumatized by this I am somewhat afraid of loud boises because it reminds me of the sound of bombs and I am also scared of being in a basement where it is dark and cold because it reminds me of that time... Elsewise it doesn't effect my life (thankfully) but it just saddens me that some people have either lost loved ones or are traumatized themselves because of those situations I hope Syria (every other conutry going through hard times) can find peace soon

How professional he was and the relief in his voice saying " the girl is alive" and "ill buy you another toy" Also checking her for injuries quickly and getting out within a minute of finding her. Thats a hero.

As a grown man I can't even imagine what that poor kid must have gone through. First you fall from such a height and then she crawled inside looking for an exit and just gave up. God bless her 🙏🏼

that is why i suspect this is fake. what kind of well has tunnels? and no water? i bet that was a 20 foot drop, there is no way she wouldnt be seriously hurt. and the kid crawled in the complete dark to that spot farthest from where she fell where they found her? and she comes out with zero injury and while still down in the hole she says..."they took my toy"? i bet they took her toy when they placed her in there, so it would make more sense to have not be able to fall with a toy in her hand and then manage to hold onto it the whole time while trapped in the complete dark. i bet this was a scam for either a need for more money, or pr or some form of propaganda. also the hysteria from the dude that climbed down to save her was suspect and felt over dramatic, instead of being calm and cautious, maybe they are all just like that over there i dont know?

@@mohamedsaib6110 in my country our rescuers, rescue people daily and smile at most, but their focus is on making sure the patient is stable, calm and try to put them at ease. these white hats seem to be putting a show on for the camera, do not know what they are doing, do not practice good first aid, and cry like little girls for the camera. i do realize your people love emotion and craziness more than anyone on the planet, goats get raped and chidren murdered just for kicks an everyday boring tuedsday afternoon, its just strange to watch and pretend that they care in these staged events

How kind and sweet the rescuer is for comforting her. You can feel the weight of his concern in his voice, and in the way he calls out to her "I'm coming, I'm coming!" The poor baby must've been so terrified all alone down there in the dark. The way he reassured her was so sweet, and her innocent words like "It's muddy" made me feel so emotional. Poor baby. I'm glad she's okay.

I feel both joy and sadness at the same time. joy to see this little innocent angel being saved and sad because we couldnt save Rayan. one thing i noticed this little girl didnt suffer any serious injuries despite deep fall. power of allah

This was more scary then a horror movie..... poor baby had a really deep fall, but thanks to all the rescuers that saved her life, what a strong, brave and cute girl.
