A giant containership crashed and toppled down gantry cranes in Turkey's Kocaeli Evyapport on Saturday while maneuvering to approach the port. Kocaeli’s governor said in a statement that there were no injuries or environmental effects reported. #turkey #containership

The vessel moved toward the quay too fast. There is nothing tugboats or an anchor could have done, to stop the vessel. This is unprofessional incompetence.

@@parisakamali345 in English it is still considered Turkey. It seems to be this push; Foreign Minister Cavuşoğlu said in a tweet that the move would "increase our country's brand value". It's all about a brand ! Let's not argue when everyone knows we are talking about the same country, what difference does it make as long as people know. Move on... more important things in the world...

Consider that Barge isn't the most gigantic of vessels and are normally under tow or direct control by a tug or tugs.... Those cranes don't appear to be that large or stable. EBW USN Ret
