A group of Israelis who camped overnight in southern Israel marched towards Gaza on Thursday in an attempt to enter the strip and build settlements there, the group's members said.
Israeli police and forces blocked the roads, preventing the group from reaching the Gaza border.

The Israelis want that land. It has massive natural gas resources that they have refused to allow the Palestinians to access.

I think hate comes from a particular way of looking at the world. It's fear-based and is part of a spectrum towards individual sovereignty. On a collective level it could be interpreted as a negative aspect of tribalism or cultural conditioning. So there is likely no quick fix for removing hate as it will require personal responsibility for its recognition. Much of the grievances between communities or nations comes from a perceived sense of injustice. Bolstering international law to deter imperialist states and its proxy wars could help with that, clear lines in the sand as it were. There's also an issue of propaganda and memes which are disbursed through media and primary education. Charities and outreach groups which encourage community building are valuable but often their resources are limited. It might not be possible to remove the mechanisms which foster fear, greed and hate in the world as they are an intrinsic part of self-will and of how a person builds character. Critical thinking and intent can encourage a person to deepen their knowledge and find wisdom. Global community-building and dialogue will help.

A sense of belonging or an inclination to move into community (or as you suggest, to cultivate) is coupled with how we experience the world, just as is taking responsibility for the recognition of our own fear or greed or hate an integral part of a process of the maturation of our character. I think that trust, particularly if there is a requirement for it to be earned, is such an embedded component of a particular way of how people have been taught about life and to be in relationship (particularly of an intimate one), that it can be difficult to conceive of what life would be like without being given a green light or the goods upfront as it were. It’s part of why a rules-based order has been such a pivot or bedrock of civilisation and is why there is a huge sense of injustice and negativity towards others when we perceive that violations of this trust have broken down. Asking what it means to be human, finding one’s deepest values, whilst they are perennial questions, they are also very current and my belief is that it is how we respond, particularly during the unknown that reveals our relationship with truth.
