U.S. President Joe Biden says he won't continue to supply Israel with offensive weapons if the Israeli army invades Rafah.
It is Gaza’s southern-most city, where more than one million Palestinian civilians are sheltering. Jackson Proskow explains how the major policy shift could put further pressure on Israel to scale back its war on Hamas, as Palestinians scramble to escape Rafah while they can.

Hind Rajab was a 6-year-old girl from Gaza. In January 2024, she and her family were shelled by the Israeli army while in their car. Hind and her 15-year-old cousin, Layan Hamadeh, were the only survivors, trapped within the car. They called the Palestinian Red Cross Society, with Layan saying, 'They are shooting at us. The tank is right next to me. We're in the car, and the tank is right next to us.' The PCRS sent a team to rescue them. However, after 12 days, on February 10th, when the Israeli army withdrew from the area, Hind Rajab and her six relatives were found dead in the car, along with the two paramedics sent to rescue them, who were also found dead nearby

The problem was that most of the corporate, and public broadcast news programs failed to ever actually go speak to a protester to get their side of the story. Instead they tried to construct an obviously false narrative that did not match what we (the people) had already seen from random people online who took their phones down to the protests to show the truth. This will be a very hard thing for legacy media to atone for, and try to build back lost trust. It even makes me question their coverage of other protests such as the one dubbed the freedumb convoy here in Canada.
