Despite their past political differences, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow held their first-ever joint press conference at Queen's Park on Monday, where they expressed their focus on unity and announced a new-deal working group to help achieve long-term stability and sustainability for Toronto's finances.
On top of that, Ford announced a $42 million investment to help house asylum seekers across the province.
Ford also continues to be embroiled in controversy surrounding the development of Greenbelt land. When asked if any property developers made an appearance at his daughter's wedding over the weekend, Ford said "no."
While addressing the concerns of safety, affordability and public transit, Chow rejected the idea that "Toronto is a city in decline," highlighting many of the cultural events that bring its citizens together on such a frequent basis.

You can only ride a gas-powered car and not an electric car like a real conservative. Also roads are for real Alpha man.

@@patrickranjan3270what are you even talking about. Conservatives are about choice to drive gas, EV, or PHEV. I have an EV, love it, but a Conservative non the less. I understand EV is not the best choice for those who don't have a garage because the high price of the car and savings charging in public, doesn't make sense unless you're not doing it to save money. Don't be closed minded and believe everyone should drive an EV, walk, and use public transit. Not everyone has the same lifestyle or financial means.

Doug is trying to be so kind now and not the bully and huckster that took (we can only guess) to pay off cronies. How about his helping the poor little man and family by cancelling rent controls when he came into power. Did you forget how he viciously went after those that didn't get the covid shot ?Did you know that his own daughter stated that entire family didn't get the shot.Did Dougie fake his shot?

bicycle infrastructure is the cheapest you can build. it costs a fraction of what i costs for building roads for cars

@@olivergoncalves1217 👍👍👍 smart response to dumb A. Refugees/asylum seekers are in churches and other spaces donated by nonprofit and private sector. Homeless who follow rules are in shelter and/or waiting long term accommodation. Tent people are the ones who don’t wanna be placed. ❤❤❤❤

@@TheJlee28yep, i know it's before her time. Hope she ends spending anymore time and resources on renaming streets. Good to see her and doug working together. The Ying and the Yang. Two opposites working together is a relief. I'm not a big fan of chow but welcome her open mind on trying to avoid extra taxes.
