A Canadian girl has officially become the youngest author to be published by an internationally renowned publishing firm.
Chryseis Knight taught herself how to read at the age of one, and by three she had written and illustrated her first book, 'the Great Big Lion.'
"My parents read to me a lot when I was younger than a year old, and I used to point out to them when they skipped a page; skipped a line," she said.
Global's Minna Rhee had a chance to speak to the gifted student about her unique talents.

The little girl is just remarkable that she can read adult books and write stories at such a very young age like that. When I was three, I did not even know the alphabet.

I taught myself how to read at 7 years old. To think a kid taught herself at 1 in hard to believe, but then again there are some young geniuses out there.

Wow! I'm amazed by all the negative comments below. Just as an FYI, this youngster is a genius IMHO and a member of MENSA so I'm not at all shocked by her accomplishments :)

People should read up on how to speed read LOL and they should read her books on empathy haha I was shocked by how inhumane the comments to a KID are. When did everyone become so heartless and cruel???

I am amazed at the amount of adult people judging and criticizing a child in these comments, calling her and her parents liars. Highly recommend picking up one of her books about how to be empathetic and compassionate and how friendship works. Be polite. Don’t be mean or judgmental to a KID or her parents … what on earth is the world coming to when we see this news and the first thing you want to do is comment about her being a liar and brought down a few notches. WOW that is so horrible and sad and really really pathetic.

If the claims are true, she certainly didn't attend public school. I hadn't read the book so can't tell whether she had been indoctrinated by the public system yet.

Judging a CHILD ….. cool … cool…. Just because she has accomplished more by the age of 3 than you… don’t judge LOL just because YOU cannot read 5 books a day, does not mean anyone else cannot. Quit judging A KID … wowwwwwwww keep your comments to yourself. Or maybe pick up one of the books she wrote at the age of 3 about Empathy and Friendship. Try to learn from her.
