Canadian breaks hip, stuck in Cuba due to Nova Scotian hospital bed shortage

A Nova Scotia man who suffered a medical emergency in Cuba is stuck waiting in a hospital, after his family was told no hospitals in the province are able to admit him due to a lack of available beds.
Their family vacation quickly came to a halt after 63-year-old Murray Balser broke his hip on a boating excursion.
His family says due to a shortage of available hospital beds in Nova Scotia, he was forced to stay in a Cuban hospital for a week and a half.

He'll proabably get better treatment in Cuba. You can thank the U.S. sanctions for the medical shortages.

No. You can than the Cuban government's import bans and high tariffs for that.

@@CarlosGonzalez-vd7kf They said the same thing about Iraq back in the 1990s, but it wasn't true. Many international entities back off when it comes to Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, and Syria, because of the American government.

This is real. I was 10 days stuck in emergency with a severe COVID infection because there were no beds anywhere.

Uh, Tim Houston, a CONSERVATIVE is Nova Scotia's Premier. Health Care is governed provincially. When Tim Houston was elected he cried on camera promising he would do everything he could to fix the health care in Nova Scotia. But why blame who's actually at fault when you can just be lazy and BLAME TRUDEAU. Silly goose. 😒😒😒

I think anyone watching this video who is quick to blame the Liberal Federal Govt should know that Health Care in Canada is governed Provincially and Nova Scotia's premier is Tim Houston, a CONSERVATIVE. When he first got elected he cried on camera stating that he would do everything he could to help Nova Scotia Health Care. NOT saying he deserves blame but he would be the one to hold responsible in this case.

NS Conservative Premiere Tim Houston HAD a plan to fast track some new hospital beds and bought a hotel under construction, but then suddenly decided to sell it to developers instead. It's like he owes them favours or something! Meanwhile, the family doctor waitlist he swore to shrink has only multiplied.

The federal government is responsible for funding health care through CHT. The Conservatives have been asking for more money because of Trudeau’s destructive inflation causing carbon tax So yes the federal government is to blame.

The Conservative party designed carbon pricing to continue increasing in small amounts until emission targets were met in 2030. Trudeau came along and decided to give YOU a Rebate instead of sending it directly back to Big Oil as a subsidy for "business development". That's why the Cons and their Big Oil bosses are are working so hard to rally their troops (you) to protest it. Big Oil wants your rebate. Poilievre wants to give it to them. --
