Canada-wide warrant out for suspect in 3 shootings linked to South Asian extortion

Edmonton police are searching abroad to find a suspect in Project Gaslight - the investigation into extortion targeting members of area's South Asian homebuilder community.
There has been 34 incidents in the Edmonton region alone between October of 2023 and the end of April 2024. Similar situations have emerged in other cities across Canada.
Arjun Sahnan, 19, is accused of being involved in drive-by shootings in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Alta. and Winnipeg in December 2023, and investigators believe he has since fled to India. Morgan Black reports.

@@jamesryan7684 well for starters let’s not release people on bail when they are being held on firearms related charges… but let’s say they do it anyways… at the very least take away their passports so they can’t leave the country… even at that they might have foreign passport … so put them on a no fly list… - there , I did better than the legal system already…

@@Goldsavergamer That's true, but the system is broken. Taxpayers have a fit evert time they have to pay for services or their own pollution. It costs $400 a day to keep someone behind bars. As for being held on firearm related charges at a traffic stop, that would gave to be equal across the board. Every hunter or farmer caught with a firearm in their car breaking some rule, however small would have to be automatically held in jail pending a trial. Do you know that it takes 2 years to get to trial? It's been that way for decades. $400 x 365 x 2 for each ":hun related charge at a traffic stop. Provinces would need to pay for that with your tax money. I can hear the screaming against Trudeau already, because everything is his fault... even world inflation.

@@jamesryan7684people survive on less than $400 a day… so I know they can too. Yes corrections officers , facilities etc is most of the cost… but they can live on rice and water for the period they are incarcerated… automate the prison system so less resources are needed… and the cost will be less… while they are in prison, police resources out in the public will be less strained - so those unmeasurable costs need to be considered… just saying what’s happening now is not working - we need change… but we all know nothing will change … thus my original comment … joke of a legal system…

@@Goldsavergamer There's a thing called human rights. Holding people in prison awaiting trial is one thing, but the wait time is years. Only giving then rice and water for a year or two while they wait for a trial is not legal. What if they are found innocent?

Canada needs its own 2nd amendment type laws Law abiding Canadains need to be able to carry weapons for self defense this should include pepper spray and tazers and firearms. Clearly, the police and politicians can't protect us its up to ourselves. Canada needs stand your ground laws and castle doctrine.

I'm not an owner of anykind only a poor dude lol never made more then 10gees a year somehow do not have it happening only rations cause im Polish born and to shirt and too young looking that's what I was always only listen and maybe they will let you live and eat. Soon these types of moments in action for money is gone 1000X or higher and it won't be able to halt it down anymore its leverage of numbers every season you will have a new member in and on rotations and luck of protection in greater numbers they will win with ease. I bet they already getting payed and this show in protection just got shown they can't keep up with the influx and country is being used any way its number game and here it's showing Canada can't keep up budget is overplayed in full. Gist only that's how i see it.
