I immigrated to Canada in 2010. Since then, I had dedicated a lot of time learning about Canadian politics and politicians, with a focus on party leaders and PMs. Two seem to be highly thought of and even loved by all Canadians: Brian Mulroney and Jack Layton. RIP both.

I saw Brian & Mila at the airport in Montreal in early 2000's. He was still shaking hands and kissing babies in retirement. Mila was encouraging him not to miss their flight.Very charismatic! 🇨🇦

I lost my father amost two years ago. As sons of great men you and I put on a brave face. But the grief is a lonely journey no matter how many caring friends and relatives we have around us. God I wish your father were around to guide us through these difficult times. Take care Ben. 😊

What a beautiful ceremony. My heart goes out to Mila. I know what it is like to be the one who is left, it gets worse before it gets better. I loved Brians sense of humour, and that wonderful voice. He seemed a very friendly person, and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.

It's so nice to see a loving family who actually cared about Canadians. My father's business thrived under Mulroney and it's so nice to see that Mila and the kids admired him too.

Brian Mulroney was a great human being, and a skilled leader for Canada. Many of us, regardless of our political affiliations, still admire his leadership, toughness, fairness.

Is that Brian who in the early 90's got 225k at a donut shop and "forgot" to report it as income until he had a "dream" . The guy who gave it to him Karlheinz Schreiber was convicted of income tax evasion in Germany On retrial in 2013, Schreiber was sentenced to six and a half years in prison Mulroney sued the government of Canada and the people of Canada for libel, and in early 1997 received a $2.1 million (CDN) settlement and an apology. During an examination under oath, Mulroney claimed that he hardly knew Schreiber, and had had no business dealings with him. Mulroney has since admitted to receiving $225,000 from Schreiber, in cash, and not reporting this in his income tax returns until eight years later, subsequent to Schreiber's indictment in Germany for bribery, tax evasion and fraud and extradition order from Canada. Schreiber's Canadian dealings are also featured in two books by William Kaplan: in 1998, Kaplan wrote Presumed Guilty: Brian Mulroney, the Airbus Affair, and the Government of Canada, and in 2004, followed up on the latest developments in A Secret Trial: Brian Mulroney, Stevie Cameron, and the Public Trust. Yup that Brian.

i'm sorry for the family, but this is kind of dragging on. He was an OK PM...one of many.....but it's been over 3 wks since he passed. The Queen of England, who was excellent for over 70 YEARS, was buried less than 2 wks after she died. Hope it's a closed casket!

I didn’t like him for giving us the GST and I still remember his receiving an envelope full of cash from Schreiber. He was already a rich man. Greed is a bad thing.
